Identify the Challenge
Cure Crystals aimed to boost user engagement within their mobile app through a seamlessly integrated game experience. However, they faced the challenge of creating a game that not only entertained users but also aligned with their brand identity and overarching app objectives.
The key challenge was to design a game that captivated users and enhanced the overall app experience, driving increased interaction and retention.
Understanding User Preferences
Conducted online user interviews and surveys on Cure Crystals mobile application to gather insights into the gaming preferences of their target audience. Discovered that users enjoyed more of casual games with a mix of challenge and relaxation.
Engaging Gameplay Mechanics
Balancing Challenge and Fun: Designed gameplay mechanics that gradually increased in complexity to provide a sense of progression while ensuring accessibility for players of all skill levels. Implemented features such as history, multiple difficulty levels, and high score tracking to keep players engaged while ensuring the feature set for the game was properly defined.
Magic Moment in Game: The game features a captivating 'magic moment' that occurs when players achieve a new high score. This moment is designed to surprise and delight players, providing them with a sense of accomplishment and motivation to continue playing.
Iterative Prototyping, Advanced Prototyping & Testing
Prototyping Process: Built prototypes of the game using Figma and Adobe After Effects. Conducted usability testing sessions with internal team members to identify usability issues and gather feedback on the user interface and interaction design.
User Testing Insights: Analyzed user testing data to identify common pain points and areas for improvement.

25% reduction in UI navigation errors by employing user feedback and card sorting methodologies.
The game's immersive gameplay experience transported players into the world of Cure Crystals, allowing them to enjoy moments of relaxation and fun.
